How to lose weight in 3 steps (without physical exercise)
For many people to lose weight is a challenge, but more than that, what is really challenging is to find time to regularly practice physical activity, due to time constraints or health conditions that make it impractical. However, research shows that when it comes to weight loss, diet plays a much more important role compared to exercise. By making a few changes to diet and lifestyle it is possible to lose weight safely and effectively, even without planned exercise. During this lecture Dr. Tognon, who is associate professor in public health at Gothenburg University and who has a long experience as a lifestyle and nutrition coach as well, will share useful tips and suggestions to improve the weight status. Overweight and obesity are huge public health problems in many countries and a main cause of increased cardiovascular and mortality risks. Although Sweden has one of the lowest obesity prevalence in the EU, the country is now catching up with other EU member states. According to the WHO more than 25% of Swedish men and 22% of women will be obese by 2030 .

The speaker: 

Gianluca Tognon, associate professor in public health at the University of Gothenburg, is an expert in public health nutrition. His main research area is the effects of the Mediterranean diet on health and he is author and co-author of several scientific publications and he has published 5 books.
